Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, US on Thu, 24 Jul 2014
I love love love The Cult! I have seen them a couple of dozen times. Every show I have been to has been general admission. The show at the Chumash Casino was seated. I did not like their seated area. Also half way through the show people rushed to the stage, which was fine, it didn't bother my view, but if I was a person that paid more for the front row seats, I would have been upset. I think the show should have been GA. The band was great like they always are.
Rock The Shores 2014 festival in Victoria, Canada on Fri, 11 Jul 2014
Just got back from Rock The Shores, so exhausted with serious heat stroke. It was hot as a motherfucker today, i am really hurtin right now, i am not kidding, lol ! Probably didn't help myself by wearing tight black jeans there, not sure what the hell i was thinking, lol ??? The Cult absolutely killed it, slayed every band there, Ian & Billy still have the magic, Spiritwalker, The Phoenix, She Sells Sanctuary, Love Removal Machine, Lil Devil & Rise was worth the ticket price alone. This was the 4th time i have seen them live & maybe the best they have ever sounded of the shows i have been to? Ian was on fire for the most part vocally, best he has sounded live in ages & still has got that charisma on stage. And what to say about Billy Duffy, he was incredible as always, the guy has to be one of the most underrated guitarists out there, he is so fucking good ! But the one thing that really bothered me was, they only got to play 55 minutes, like really, are you fucking kidding me, WTF ??? Having them billed under headliner Tom Cochrane & Red Rider was not only wrong on every level, but just plain stupid ! They should have been the days headliner without a doubt ??? And should have got easily a 90 minute slot, & Red Rider should have got the 55 minutes, that would have made sense ? All in all though, a great time was had though, i am glad i went, The Cult always brings it live.
