First concert ever for me, and that was absolutely awesome. Jim Kerr in great form, at a time when "Alive & Kicking" was the hit single following "Don't You Forget About Me". Such a energic concert with a perfect line-up including the chorist. I've always wandered why this was not this show which had been chosen for the live album "In the city of light" (this was the Zenith show later that year in August which was).
Starting with "Waterfront" followed by "Speed Your Love To Me", the live rendition of each song was different from records, with Charlie Burchill playing great guitars. I recall the fantastic version of "Someone Somewhere In Summertime" and the fact that Jim Kerr was always talking to the audience.
This has been the event that change my regard to music, making it live, getting so good sensations while going to see live artists. At that time there was no internet, the piracy was on tapes, which awful sound mainly. The artist could live from their music, as everybody who wanted a proper recording actually bought the records. This is why concerts were cheap.First concert ever for me, and that was absolutely awesome. A fantastic evening, venue is perfect and much more personal than the larger concert venues. Sound was amazing although from wher we were sitting the music drowned out Jim's voice on some of the tracks.

This was the best concert I have ever been to ( and I have been to 13 Simple Minds concerts now) They just get better and better. Jim was ill but it didn't notice- he was fantastic. Charlie's playing was out of this world. If I could have chosen the songs I would have picked exactly the ones they played. I was in the front row and the sound was perfect . Everything was perfect. The interaction that goes on between the fans and the band is amazing, especially Charlie and Andy ( but not saying it was any different with the others, just I was infront of Charlie and Andy. What a perfect perfect night ....can't wait till the 02 but will miss the intimacy .

Fantastic as usual, nice venue, very homely and personal. Set list too was good especially white hot day straight after the break. My one only niggle is the music over powers Jims vocals an Charlie's guitar was sometimes lost, it could be we were seated upstairs in front of the left side of the stage! It would be nice if people in the middle would give their views just for comparison? Roll on November at the O2 Arena.
