What you agree to when you register

House rules

Nineteen provisions, most of which come down to the same thing: argue about the gig, not about the person you are arguing with. Nothing here is written to catch anybody out.

The rules

Standards and rules of communication on loudmemories.com

loudmemories.com gives members plenty of room to say what they thought of a concert or an artist. We would like that to be a good-natured, lively and worthwhile discussion that everyone can take part in on equal terms. Posts and reviews go up immediately and are not read beforehand, so we cannot prevent what a member writes, and a review is not necessarily the view of loudmemories.com.

Introductory provision

  1. When registering on loudmemories.com, the member undertakes to accept all the provisions of these Terms of Use and the rules of the site.

Members

  1. Differing opinions, and comparing them, are the point of any discussion online, so I will not verbally attack, threaten or insult other members or artists.
  2. Harsh criticism of a review, or disagreement with it, is to be put politely and without personal attacks or insults.
  3. I understand that hate speech, incitement to violence, and the spreading or expression of racial, ethnic, religious, sexual or other intolerance carry personal criminal liability under the Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia and the law prohibiting the deliberate promotion of hatred, violence and intolerance.
  4. I respect the views of others and think about how what I write will land with them. I will not deliberately provoke or disrupt (troll), and I will not imitate another member or pass myself off as someone else.
  5. I will stay on topic. I will not steer a discussion somewhere else, and what I post will be relevant to the thread it is in.
  6. I accept that a question or complaint about something an administrator has done belongs in a message to support rather than in a public thread, where it is of no concern to other members.
  7. Advertising is not allowed, so I will not post external or promotional links that add nothing to the discussion and exist to sell goods, financial products or other services.
  8. I will write so as to be understood. Something said in person does not always read the same way in print, so I will take care to be clear. I understand that vulgar or otherwise inappropriate reviews, nicknames and avatars are not allowed, and I will not use them.
  9. I will respect the privacy of other members. I will not publish anyone’s personal information, or private messages from members or administrators, as I am aware that doing so would breach data protection law.
  10. In what I write I will follow ordinary online etiquette. Writing in capitals reads as shouting, so I will not do it. Keeping to the conventions of the site keeps it readable for everyone.
  11. I am the author of what I post and I take responsibility for it, and for anything else I put on loudmemories.com. I am aware that I may not distribute copyright-protected material - photographs, articles - or anything else belonging to another person or company.
  12. I accept that the personal data I enter is collected and stored for use on this site only, in accordance with data protection law.

loudmemories.com

  1. Where a member seriously or repeatedly breaks these rules, or ignores them deliberately, an administrator may warn them, place their account under review, or block the nickname.
  2. An administrator may remove a review or a picture without warning where, in our judgment, it breaks one of these rules.
  3. So that a few members breaking the rules do not spoil the site for everyone else, an administrator will warn a member about a minor breach before placing the account under review or blocking it. A member whose account has been placed under review or blocked may not register a new nickname. Registering further nicknames in order to carry on breaking the rules is not allowed. Nicknames and passwords are not to be shared with anyone.
  4. Where there has been abuse or a breach of the law, and the law entitles them to it, member details may be passed to the police for further action.

Final provisions

  1. These Terms of Use bind members in whatever form they currently stand, including after any change to them.
  2. These Terms of Use take effect on the day they are published on loudmemories.com.
