Loved Big Country, loved the support, Peerless Pirates. Great night of live music in Oxford-thanks.
Great gig all round.
First time I've seen the band with Derek Forbes and Simon Hough and I have to say they sounded really good. Thoroughly enjoyed hearing the whole Steeltown album performed live along with several I've never heard live before. They did an excellent job with these songs as they were technically very difficult to play.
Then we got all the classic sing along tunes, as Bruce said its party time and boy did the crowd party
Great concert, although there was an issue with the sound, the guitars were not loud enough, but still a great concert.
Having seen them many times - the venue/ hall seem to cause problems with vocals
Ok having watched Big Country since 1982, it can be said i am a little biased towards them.
But tonight was a treat, my fav band in my hometown, it is what dreams are made of.
The band played all of there second album Steeltown in full and it was great to hear a lot of tracks which haven"t been played for a while and they nailed everyone.
Assembley has a great sound for a guitar band, and it suited Big Country, who then belted out a mix of there so called greatest hits and a couple of surprise tracks, namely River of Hope.
By the end, a healthy sized crowd were rocking to a great venue and truely great band.
Don"t miss either this venue, or a legendary kick ass band.
Amazing concert as usual - never fail to disappoint - Derek Forbes - Legend - can't wait until next year :-)
Big Country were great, just a pity the crowd were a bit dull! That's Perth for ye!! We had a doss time! Cheerz :-)
