Clairy Browne & the Bangin' Rackettes on Thu, 24 Jul 2014
Clairy Browne & the Bangin' Rackettes fan memoriethis was huge fun. the band was just as jacked and jazz and entertaining as the crazy heinekin commercial, there were no weak tunes. ms brownes voice is one-of-a-kind. powerful, soulful, amazing. a honey lubricated chainsaw with a velvet lining. the rackettes were all energy, and the band right and tight. the only downside was that it was an outdoor stage, and dallas was rocking a 105 temp the day after a rainstorm. so humid the gals makeup was slip sliding away. but they persevered, and did all their songs. troupers! my friends and I had such a good time, I bought tickets to both their oklahoma shows later in the year, took a long weekend vacation and camped in tulsa and oklahoma city to catch them both! fun ass band, sorry their gone. go buy their albums on I tunes you'll be happy you did! ❤️ shout out to nick(ricky) martin - thanks for the post show chat!
Cowboy Mouth on Sat, 31 May 2014
Cowboy Mouth fan reviewCowboy Mouth was, as always, an amazing performance - Fred can coax more energy out of a small venue than many entertainers can summon out of a stadium audience. The opening band was OK, but I would have preferred to have the time to see CM instead.
That being said; The Gas Monkey Grill venue needs work - a lot of work. I purchased "VIP" tickets for myself and my daughter, and yet couldn't find any seating that would give us a view of the band (there's a very limited viewing range along the front rail upstairs - no more than 20 people, tops). The only seating at floor level were 4 picnic tables, reserved in advance. Since there was no seating to speak of, my daughter and I ended up in the General Admission area in front of the band anyway, so it was a waste of upcharge for me to buy the VIP tickets.
Recommendations: raise the stage so that the entire VIP area has the ability to see, or add more seating down on floor level - there was quite a bit of space that was unoccupied during the evening, away from the stage area.
