Such a sensitive & otherworldly Samaris gig reflecting pure light and shrouded darkness. Ancient, enchanting, dark and poetic Icelandic folk tales were delicately interwoven with glacial electronics & haunting, mesmerising vocals & melancholic clarinet. The crowd were hanging on every beat & breath. The vocals soared, floated, whispered, crystallized in the air for a moment & then melted. They needed no translation, for their sound alone created vision and spine tingling, awe inspiring wonder. The hypnotic beats took us deeper into this beautiful, otherworldly trance & intensified the mysterious, alien soundscape.
Music for the soul & mind, I left feeling exhilarated, refreshed & happy, transported to another place, with an eyelid movie of the sun sinking blood red behind a hillside, the moon reflecting and bobbing on a dark, choppy sea, a perfect morning sunrise with golden rays of sunlight playing upon leaves, looming, stark mountain peaks covered in sparking snow & a magical aurora borealis sky .
