A very intimate atmosphere at The Sage with Jo Hamilton almost floating onto the stage with grace and mystique, then commencing the first number following a half-smile and no introduction. It set the tone for a spell-binding set by Jo and her tight-knit band. Jo had a very 'matter of fact' approach to her performance, while the music was polished, she had us all feeling like she was performing in our front room as she stated that she didn't want to bore us by playing too long.! Never! her voice was pure, hitting those high notes that had me buying the 'Gown' album without a second thought.
Intimate, but elating. Wonderful Jo, come back soon!
Jo Hamilton walked on stage, stood just about stock still for an hour and presented a serene, at times exciting and powerful but always faultless performance of the most beautiful and haunting songs ! It was a privilege to have been there and my only regret is having missed her concert in Durham Cathedral !
