  • A guest 20% on Diana Ross · Fri, 28 Feb 2020

We went to see Diana Ross at the Wilson Center on Feb. 28th. Diana Ross was great but over half the time we weren't able to see because a row of women were jumping out of their seats dancing. I have no problem with dancing but I find it extremely rude and insensitive when you are blocking elderly people who cannot continue to stand up every time you decide to shake your ass and draw attention to yourself. We were 3 rows back from these women - there was an elderly woman behind us that had trouble walking and 2 elderly people behind the row of dancing women. These women insisted on dancing even though they were told a number of times to sit down. One man told all of us that old people should stay at home if they can't get out of their seats and dance "because it's a concert". We paid $100 each for these seats and we will not do it again. I don't enjoy paying that kind of money to watch someone shake their ass in front of me and then be insulted when I complain. The Wilson Center needs to come up with a better way of handling this.

I loved the show and enjoyed the stories as.much as the songs. His daughter was great also. A wonderful evening.

This concert should be mandatory listening. He accentuates all the positives about folk music - fun, dialog, fact o life, silliness - but skips the boring depressing parts. His storytelling is "just enough" to be educational without sounding like a boring old hippy. Great highlights, no lowlights. His daughter opening up was a good choice too.

Actually, my feelings are between nothing special and great. I enjoyed myself, but it seemed like there was a lot of the same. He is an amazing guitarist, but the musicality wasn't there for me.

This was my first Psychedelic Furs show, so I have no comparisons to draw from, but I'd say the past few decades have been kind to these guys. The performance was spot on in a lot of ways and their musicianship and care for their art apparent. judging from the crowd's enthusiasm, I'm not the only one who thinks so. As always, the Grand Opera House is a great place to see a show. Whether it is the band's or the house techs, or the acoustics, the sound has always been great there. The same goes for the opening band, Black English. A very full sound, especially when you consider they are a three piece. Wished they had a longer set.

Great concert, band very involved with the crowd. They sound on stage just like they do recorded. Will definitely see them again!
