This was one of my favorite concerts ever. Starting with the amazing Parker Millsap and his band. They got everybody's attention from the first song(I left my seat after the 2nd song to buy his cd's in the lobby) and made a whole lot of new friend by the end of their set. Then Patty came on and my day was made. She never ceases to surprise and amaze me with how great a song writer she is. She played just enough new mixed with old and I still cry when I hear Top Of the World. My only disappointment was how brief the show was but that's just me being greedy.

Patty was really great last night... she sang songs from all the way back from "Living with Ghosts" days right through now, and all the albums were represented. The first person that I saw perform in 1997 in the USA when I moved here, was Patty Griffin, supporting Shawn Colvin, and I have seen her change and grow over the years, and have loved every nuance of where her career has taken her. The confidence she had on stage last night is well earned. Her version of "Flaming Red" was great... starting out bluesy and slow and then tearing it up into the rocker we know. Anyone who has enjoyed any aspect of her music will have something to love in this show. Her band (just 3 musicians plus her) created a sound much bigger than one would expect from such a small group, and were all brilliant. Additionally, her choice of Parker Millsap as the support act was a great decision. He is a talented young fellow that has an incredibly bright future ahead of him. Check him out too.
