I was at this concert. It was my 1st concert ever. I was only 16 years old and was big into Nirvana and Mudhoney at the time and the entire Seattle Grunge scene. I was asked by a friend at school if I wanted to buy a Nirvana ticket because he had 1 extra ticket. It was only $30 but I had to pawn off my whole tape collection after school to get the $30 to go. I then got picked up by my friend and his older brother. We ended up having a car full of 6 people and we headed to Davenport. Jawbreaker played 1st - I remebered a song called "Boxcar". Then Mudhoney played - I remembered them playing "Make It Now" while seeing all the haze in the air from cigarette smoke. It could almost put someone in a trance. Then finally Nirvana - seeing all the tall angels on stage and hearing the noise of "Radio Friendly Unit Shifter" really was exciting knowing people from here are going to actually see Nirvana. I do remember "Drain You' was their 2nd song. I can't forget Cobain playing "School". It was rowdy in that small auditorium. It felt like Nirvana was playing in the actual video that "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was played in. It was crowded. It was a sell out show. I left the auditorium when "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was almost over - thinking that the concert was over. When I was outside, there were crowds of people sitting in the grass with blankets listening to the show from the outside. Those people sitting in the grass could surely hear it well. I was outside and heard Nirvana playing clear as day. After realizing the concert wasn't over, I went back in and won't forget Kurt Cobain screaming "Get Away!!!! Get Away!!!!" over and over while playing Scentless Apprentice - it seemed never ending. I am so grateful to have been there - Shannon Blodgett
