To this day Shemekia had the best vocal performance I've ever seen that day at the Madison Blues Festival!! She always pays tribute to her father Johnny, usually with the song Ghetto Child. She sang that song from the edge of the stage with NO amplification whatsoever. Her voice is so strong! She did in front of 10000+ people. She was less than 25 years old at the time. Gives me goosebumps thinking about it. It brought tears to my eyes that day! So amazingly beautiful!! Your father would be proud Shemekia!!
