It's amazing that it seemed that only 10% of the audience was really there to listen. You could see that when the audience got up immediately when the lights went on at the end. Many people were there like they were watching tv or something, always making some noises, coughing (which is a nervous reflex of a kind) like they don't know how to be quite. Like Keith said, "to many screens..." relating to mobile phones, tablets and all that junk. People think that the artist is there to please them, to entertain them just like a sort of a clown. And some people wanted protagonism, like the guy who got out of the concert saying bye bye or something. A stupid attitude. Just like the guy who said loudly "Get over it" (about the coughing). These people don't want to listen, they don't know how to listen. I understand Keith's point of view. Those improvisations are unique and people don't care. You could also see how he ended swiftly some improvisations a few seconds after some coughs. Like my piano teacher used to say: The audience is stupid!
Hello, I saw Keith almost each time at Salle Pleyel. The most disappointing point, for me , are the spectators coming without paying their place. And spectators that are spreadinbg their EGO into a such noisy and bright acoustic concert hall.
Salle Pleyel should use absorbers at the rear of the concert hall.
