Finntroll concert at The Fleece in Bristol, UK

Been a fan of Finntroll for some fifteen years but only ever caught them live at the odd festival. The chance to see them not only in a small club, but playing their best album in it's entirety, was not to be missed.

The support bands were an odd choice and both frankly bored me to death. But happily Finntroll were well worth the wait. Sporting rather comical troll ears they took to the stage to a rapturous welcome and launched into the classic Nattfodd album. The highlight was predictably fan favourite Trollhammaren but each track went down a storm. The rest of the set was a best of from throughout their career, I was particularly delighted that Jaktens Tid got an airing, the song which introduced me to them in the first place.

Overall, an enormously entertaining gig, a really good, fun band to watch treated to The Fleece's usual great sound. A top night, well worth the two hour drive up!
