This is so long ago. I was 16. We told my dad we were going to my uncle's place in the Oldenwalt. We came in from waldorf, Germany via heidleberg, koln, ostend, dover, London Steven-hearts, knebworth. It took 24 hours by but we finally arrived at the concert. Exhausted. Then there was a sound I knew. My brother's called it the Jersey sound. I called it the beach harmony. WHEN WE HIT 16 (drinking age was 18) we snuck down to the Stone Pony and other shore clubs many nights but we're never let in but we heard the music through the rafters. In Trenton, we were always allowed to drink but never down the shore. The pub owners said 2 beers and don't act like jerks. I knew Southside and the Jukes were on stage just by the sound. We were so happy to be at knebworth and listening to Southside, we broke into our mummers strut. TOM O WASH CROSSING, PA
