I was there, aged 17. I’d listened to Black Sabbath and Deep Purple as a kid and then punk rock came along. I saw most of the punk bands and decided to go and see Motörhead at the Uni. A life changing gig! Never had I heard such a loud band and so fast and aggressive…it blew my mind at took me done a totally different musical route…never looked back. What a band…I saw them so many times thereafter and still love them today. Check out Lemmy’s Bar at the Waterloo in Blackpool…loads of memorabilia, branded beers and Murder One amp!

It wasn’t just the toilets, I was in the circle as a 16yo looking down on the stalls. When the concert finished and emptied out the carnage could be seen. Place was wrecked!

Without doubt the loudest gig I ever attended of which there were many at that time. My hearing was gone for almost a full week and that was stood half way back from the stage. Kids in the front had their heads up against the PA and calling for Lemmy to play it louder.
Everything played at around 180 - 200 bpm and with little break between the songs.
The daft things you do when you are young !!

I was 17 and it was my second concert.Cost about $12.We we're in the front row almost every band.My Dad's boss drove 10 kids there and dropped us off.He said see y'all in 12 hrs!
It was crazy hot for Germany and people passed out.We left for Texas the next week.Weeks before saw Def Leppard open for Rainbow.

Met the band at Tower Records for record signing of Another Perfect Day. Got the chance to talk to Lenny for a few minutes. He actually gave me a pair of tickets for the show later that day. Didn’t know what to expect, but loved them since that day and still crank them to 11 today.

90 people. A midget. Dio's future band. Motorhead at 129 decibels. 2 blocks from my house. What's not to like?

The most intense concert I've ever attended. Full of gang members, long haired metallers and crims. At the beginning of the show there was a stoned guy standing on top of the speaker stack, which went from the stage all the way up past the balcony. The cops were trying to get him to come down. Lemmy looked up at him and said "Don't fall on me you bastard!" Loud rock n roll at its best.

Fucking loud. Great concert. PA system stropped to the roof well past mezzanine balcony. Ringing ears for 4 whole days afterwards.
