We traveleed from Baton Rouge in a Chevy van. It was shoulder to shoulder also.
I dont remember the pot being advertised, but when the zig zag papers arrived i did see that on the “big screen”. It was a lot of fun from what I recall! The building was packed! My first time in the superdome I wanted to explore but NOPD wasn't cool about that. Just cant imagine why! Lol!!

It was my only time to see any of these bands, i just celebrated 17th birthday weeks before. It was my first summer of freedom. First apartment etc.
I believe there were other bands besides the four listed!

Wish I had the energy again!

IT WAS THE "GRAND OPENING" OF THE SUPERDOME / AUGUST 1975 / THE PRIDE OF DIXIE CONCERT / WITH - THE WET WILLIE BAND, CHARLIE DANIELS BAND, MARSHALL TUCKER BAND AND STARRING " THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND" / 4:00pm - 2:00am / attendance 50,000+ / who know's, but with that many folks, absorbing the sound, it sure knocked out a lot of ECHO??("PRICELESS") *****

Best concert I have ever been to. NOPD was great. I remember before we entered we saw a guy passed out against the wall with a sign between his legs saying. I want L S D .

This was a great road trip with a few buddies from LA. Tech...
I was really only there for The Allman Brothers but I found myself enjoying Wet Willie, Charlie Daniels and Marshall Tucker much more in a live setting than on a studio recording... A couple of my friends slept through the Brothers since we'd been there all day and it must've been nearly midnight when the came on stage. I particularly enjoyed the instrumental "High Falls".

Two of us drove down from the Mississippi delta on a Sunday afternoon and the concert started at 4:00. The crowd got so large that it was shoulder to shoulder and they announced that it was over 100,000 and a new Guinness World record for a building. Everyone was smoking weed and hash and even came up on the big screen that they were selling Colombian weed and zig zag rolling papers at concession stand #4. Only in New Orleans and the law did not mess with anyone and were actually very nice. The only bad thing I saw was a guy on the mezzanine level yell that he could fly and did a swan dive over the rail. I don’t know if he made it or not. All the bands were great and the Allman brothers pulled right up to stage with Cher being the first out of the limo. They took the stage but could not play for about thirty minutes but once they got going it was Great!

This was a great concert! I remember that my wife and had seats one level up from the floor next to the passageway directly behind the stage on the left and seeing a black limo drive up. Cher got out and she stood on the back of the stage during the concert.

It was a great concert. Some friends talked me in to going last minute. We drove over from Pensacola and arrived at 5:00 AM. The concert started at 4:00 PM. At 4:00 the next morning it was still going. By that time we were exhausted and had to drive back. I enjoyed all bands. That was when Gregg was with Cher. She was there with him.

I was there. The floor was concrete and hard. by the time the Allman Bros came on we were beat, it was a long concert...seems like it was 12 hours in all. They announced at some point that the crowd size was 100,000+ and that it was the biggest indoor concert ever in North America at that time.

Here are links to a pic of the crowd and a ticket stub.

And here is a small write up at this site that puts the total crowd between 55-80,000.
