Hugh Cornwell concert reviews and tour history

A great nights entertainment! I finally got to meet a musician that truly inspired me when I was young and learning myself.

This was an amazing show.... Completely sold out which created a great atmosphere.... Good mix of new material and Stranglers songs. Bass player filled in some of the keyboard work on bass which came across well and the drummer sounded like he had played with them for years although he only had a week to prepare for this tour.... Well worth seeing if you get a chance!!!

I went along to this event as I am a huge follower of Hazel O'Connor. I found that the venue was very good and the atmosphere fantastic.

Hazel put on a great show and I really do now enjoy the set including Sarah and Claire for me the threesome is simply perfect, as they compliment each other. The set it's self was a well balanced mix of the Breaking Glass and the Bluja material. The only song that I thought was missing was Rebecca however I understand that you can't fit a quart into a pint pot.

I am not familiar with Hugh Cornwell nor the Stanglers and so I heard his set for the very first time. I liked some of the songs more than others but I do not know which was Stranglers and which were from his solo catalogue. I would have found it helpful for him to have acknowledged that there would be members of the audience like myself and given a little more introduction to the numbers (as Hazel did) I would have purchased some of his merchandise had I had confidence what I was buying.

I would visit this venue again for sure, I will continue to follow Hazel and shall do some research into Hugh Cornwell, but I'm unlikely to attend a concert where he is the only performer, without first doing some research into his material.

Really enjoyed it thought it was great and a nice touch they came out and met everyone at the end
