Winter Gardens in Weston-Super-Mare, UK on Sat, 01 Jul 1972
I was playing in one of the support bands but in a separate room at the Winter Gardens. Three of us in our band, aged 17 (guitar and vocals), 17 (drums and vocals) and 11 (me on keyboards, including bass pedals, and vocals).
Very strange audience make up
with our respective fathers as chaperones because of the weird nature of those wandering into our room, and in the main show for David Bowie.
IRA bomb scare put us out in the promenade which added further to the weirdness of the gig.
Clearly David Bowie was forming his image(s) at this time but for me, as an 11 year old, it was an interesting evening 🤨

This was my first ever concert, on a hot summer's day in 1983. Sadly, the opening acts, Icehouse and The Beat, were disappointing, but Bowie was great. I was down the front, and got a great view of a fantastic performance. x
